Supporting homeless animals in Wake and Vance counties has been some of the most meaningful work I’ve done. Through a mix of hands-on volunteerism, strategic marketing, fundraising, and community advocacy, I’ve worked to help shelters increase visibility, secure support, and create better outcomes for animals in need. Below are a few of the volunteer efforts and success stories I’m most proud of.
Marketing + Fundraising
Vance County Animal Shelter Henderson, NC
Launched a fundraising campaign that raised more than $30,000 toward the creation of a new animal shelter, contributing to the effort that ultimately resulted in a new facility.
Built and donated a website designed to tell the shelter’s story, raise awareness, and support fundraising efforts.
Secured media coverage featuring Shelter Director Frankie Nobles on WRAL, helping bring broader visibility to the shelter’s needs and mission.
Secured additional media coverage for Vance County Animal Shelter in Triangle Dog Magazine in Q2 2016.
Personally raised more than $2,000 through an online auction made up of personal items and donated goods.
Fostering + Marketing
Wake County Animal Center
Raleigh, NC
Provided foster homes for both long- and short-term shelter dogs, helping care for animals in transition and supporting their path to adoption. (see below gallery for a sampling of my fosters)
Volunteered at adoption events with foster dogs, helping connect animals with potential adopters and increase adoption visibility.
Launched the @WakeGovPets Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest profiles to expand the shelter’s digital presence and community reach.
Redesigned and rebranded the @WakeGovPets Newsletter to create a stronger, more engaging communications tool.
Developed the strategy and kicked off an overhaul of the WakeGovPets Adoption Gallery to improve how adoptable animals were presented online.
